USB memory support on Xbox; 'Mass Effect 2' DLC

Microsoft has issued an update for Xbox 360 users that enables the device to support USB memory drives. Owners can use the drives to store game saves, profiles or Xbox Live Arcade downloads. Microsoft plans on selling pre-configured, 8 GB USB drives which include a one-month Xbox Live Gold subscription. Players using other USB drives should head here for details on how to configure them for the 360.

Mass Effect 2 fans seeking to supplement their intergalactic adventures can do so starting today. BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts will release the downloadable episode Kasumi's Stolen Memory, which introduces players to master thief Kasumi. The DLC, which will sell on PC and Xbox 360 for $7, will also include weapon and research upgrades.

Finally, a pair of 2008's top titles make their debut on Xbox Live's Games on Demand this week. Fable II and Fallout 3 are now available for digital download for $19.99 and $29.99 respectively. Also, the multiplayer beta for racing title Blur is now open to all 360 owners.
